Counter-offer Period

The proposed rule change introduces an innovative "counter-offer period" during the current veto period following a trade acceptance. This period allows any league member to suggest alternative trade ideas to the parties involved in the original trade. If either party wishes to back out of the original trade and accept the new, presumably better trade offer, the commissioner will facilitate the process. The commissioner will delete the original trade under the agreement that the new trade will be immediately offered and accepted. This rule change encourages active participation and negotiation among league members, ensuring that trade discussions remain open and dynamic. By providing a window for potential improved trade scenarios, the league aims to foster fairer and more satisfactory trade outcomes for all teams involved.
