Season 46 Rules

COME ON IN!!!!

We are just ten days out from Survivor Season 46 premier on Wednesday February 28th, at 8pm on CBS! We are looking at a pretty awesome cast! A Slot machine salesman who looks like Hey Arnold incarnate, a Persian version of Em Rata that cannot pronounce Iran correctly, a Shambo look-a-like self-help guru, a rock star, a former Ol' Miss football player turned Real Estate agent, an actor, an artist, a hair salon owner, and for the first time ever... a super smart Harvard student!  Who will win the title of Sole Survivor?

Who cares, it's all about who will add their name to THE PROBSTY!

Congrats to LEANDRO MALDONADO for adding his name to the trophy as our Season 45 Champion!

If you have anybody new who wants to join our league, please forward them this email as it will detail all the rules. There are changes to the points, so it's not a bad idea to read them yourself. You'll see A LOT of new ways to gain and lose points.

Here's the basics:
Step 1: Pay league dues before March 6 at 3pm. It's $50 to play: 40 goes into prize pool, 10 goes to admin, website hosting, weekly recap emails on Tuesdays, and trophies/prizes/more.The top 20% of the league will make win money! The amount per placing will be determined once I see how many people register. The rest: got nothing for ya. Bookmark the spreadsheet where the results are tabulated each week: Results Page

Feel free to click on the Survivor 45 Tab so you can see what it looks like toward the end of the league. @shauhindavari on Venmo. (925) 413 6633. Please put Survivor League Dues in the memo line, and if you are not on this email thread because a friend has forwarded you this email list, then give me an email that you will check.

Step 2: Draft your tribe. Watch the 2 hour premier on Feb 28, or BEFORE March 5th and select your team before March 6th, at 3pm on AllPlayFantasy.com. You will be able to pick 4 people to your tribe, and your tribe name. You get to add a 5th tribe member at the merge. Each castaway will earn you points for your tribe based on their performance throughout the season.

Step 3:  Predict the vote! Each week, you can earn points by visiting Allplayfantasy.com and accurately predicting who goes home. Votes must be submitted by Wednesday 4pm PST. You have options for how many people you pick to go home: If you get it right and selected 1 name: 40 points. Select 2 names: 20 Points. Select 3 names: 10 points. Select 4 names: 5 points. After the merge this moves to one or two names. A weekly recap email will be sent out on Tuesdays for those of you who can't watch the ep or need a recap of what happened before you submit your votes.

Step 4: Survivor wager will begin near the last three or four weeks. (I reserve the right to mix it up.) This is where you can take the points you've gained to this point in the season and wager them (up to a certain amount) Final Jeopardy style on who you believe will go home. For wager, you will only be able to pick one person per slot unlike predictive voting.

Step 5: Expect twists! No season of Survivor is complete without some unexpected twists, and this fantasy league is no different. This league is not a democracy. Nothing goes up for "league vote." It's a benevolent dictatorship. I created this league because all the other ones sucked. Don't like it, go play in another league. I do not have the ability to win the league, or even place in the money. I am the administrator of the league.

Reasoning behind the league: The most fun for the most people for the most amount of time.

Most Survivor Fantasy leagues suck ass because they are over by week 4 or 5 if your players go home early. "Oh you picked Sean Hannah and Brando and Brandon to start season 45? You're screwed." Games that end before the end of the game suck!

Instead, this league is aimed at testing your overall knowledge of the game, opposed to your ability to randomly guess who will do well based on pregame/first ep.

Just like in Survivor, it doesn't matter how you start, it matters how you finish. You gain an advantage throughout the weeks by picking accurately who goes home, and by accurately picking good players on your team. However, those last few weeks are where you go from gaining an advantage to using that advantage to win the END GAME. Those who pay close attention and have that keeeeeen "Survivor eye" will be rewarded. It's truly anybody's game to the end of the game! (Unless you were Shahriar or Carlos last year. Wow. Truly spectacular. Impressive.)

How teams gain/lose points:

TL;DR - Gain points for people on your team doing cool shit, like getting an advantage, or winning a challenge, etc. Lose points for them doing dumb shit, like giving away an advantage, or going home with an advantage in their pocket, or quitting, etc.

  • GAIN POINTS

  • PV: Predicting the vote accurately gains you points based on how many names you've guessed. This is tallied week by week next to your grouping of survivors on the spreadsheet.

  • SW: Surviving to the next week. 10 points

  • TCW: Team challenge win. Your players team wins a challenge, your player MUST participate in order to earn points. If your player is benched, no points will be awarded. If there are three tribes, the tribe that finishes first earns an extra 5 points. 10 points +5 if first of three.

  • AC: Finding a clue to an advantage. This player will gain AD points if/when they find the full blown advantage. 10 points.

  • AD: Advantage Gained through finding it, stealing it, or having it given, or given back to you. 20 points. If the player is FORCED to give away an advantage, the player who finds it and the player who receives it will gain 20 points. (This does not apply to Shot in the Dark.)

  • AU: Amulets are given advantage points, however, they gain 10 points if the Amulet Upgrades to an idol.

  • II: Winning individual immunity. 30 Points

  • IRW: individual reward win. 20 Points

  • CFR: Your player has been chosen for reward. 10 points.

  • AP: Advantaged played, whether it "worked" or not. 10 points.

  • IP: Idol played. In addition to AP points, the castaway will also be awarded 5 points per vote blocked. These points are awarded to the person who stands up at tribal and plays the idol, not the person for whom the idol is played. If player x plays the idol for player y, player x receives the points.

  • SITD: Shot in the dark played successfully. 30 points, and points will be earned per vote blocked as if it was an idol.

  • TV: Tribal vote for the person who went home. Castaways that vote correctly at tribal. 5 points. In the event that the votes cast for the person going home are a minority of votes, the points shall double to 10 points.

  • ME: Med Evacuation. The player is forced to leave the game. 30 points.

  • FI: Making a fake idol that gets played at tribal by another player. 20 points

  • FM: Player wins fire making challenge. 40 Points

  • FTV: Final Tribal Votes. 25 points each vote received.

  • LOSING POINTS:

  • Q: If a dookie faced loser quits. Lose 50 points. Yeah. 50 points.

  • GA: give away your advantage. This includes if you're given an advantage and you give it back to the original holder of the advantage. Lose 10 points.

  • GS: Give away any shot in the dark. Lose 5 points. The person that is given the shot in the dark is given 5 points. If x gives y x's SITD, and y gives it back. It ends up that 5 points are lost and gained by each player.

  • NV: If your castaway goes to tribal without a vote, or they do not cast a vote at tribal for any reason. Lose 5 points.

  • VOWA: Voted out with an Advantage. Lose 30 points.

  • Discrepancies will hear argument, but ultimately a decision will be made by the league commissioner and benevolent dictator.

Can't wait for the premier!

If you no longer want to receive these emails, just respond and let me know. I will take you off the list (coward.)
